BOWS FOR BEGINNERS

Young beginners will usually get their bow at the same time as their instrument, as they tend to buy the 'outfit', also referred to as a 'kit'.This includes the instrument, bow and case. Whereas adult beginners who often wish to learn a second instrument tend to buy a far better instrument and bow in the first place, as they are usually much more dedicated in their intentions.

It would be advantageous to have a good bow right from the start, as the bows provided with beginners instruments are only just adequate to the function that is required of them. Fortunately, at the early stages of learning, what the bow has to do is not as complex as the demands of the left hand. As for violins, coloured violin bows are also available.
